Delta State traditional rulers from across the three senatorial districts have called on the people of the State to continue to support the programmes and policies of the State Government.
The monarchs emphasized that sustained public cooperation remains critical to consolidating the gains already recorded in governance, infrastructure, and economic development.
This collective position was made known during a high-profile get-together party held at the prestigious Odogwu Hall, Orodje Palace in Oerokpe.
The gathering attracted a large number of first-class and recognized traditional rulers from across the state, serving as a platform for dialogue, reflection, and reinforcement of shared goals between traditional institutions and government.
The event was presided over by the Chairman of the Delta State Traditional Rulers Council and the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom, HRM Major General Felix Mujakperuo (rtd).
Traditional rulers from Delta North Senatorial District were led to the occasion by their Chairman and Leader, HRM, Dr. Emmanuel Efeizomor II, Obi of Owa Kingdom and immediate past Chairman of the State Traditional Rulers Council.
Addressing journalists shortly after the meeting on behalf of Delta North traditional rulers, the Obi and Paramount Ruler of Abavo Kingdom, HRM King Uche Irenuma, expressed deep appreciation to the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for what he described as “rapid and visible strides” in economic transformation, infrastructural expansion, and people-oriented governance across Delta State.
According to him, the governor’s developmental footprint can be seen across the three senatorial districts, with notable improvements in road networks, public facilities, and socio-economic initiatives aimed at uplifting the living standards of the people.
He noted that such progress should not only be acknowledged but also supported through continuous public backing.
The monarch called on all Deltans, irrespective of political affiliations, ethnic backgrounds, or social status, to rally behind the administration to ensure the full realization of its vision.
He noted that governance thrives best in an atmosphere of unity, cooperation, and shared purpose.
Speaking further, the Abavo monarch highlighted the importance of political stability in sustaining development.
The traditional ruler called on all Deltans across the three senatorial districts to give their total support to Governor Oborevwori for a second term, pointing out that continuity in governance would help to strengthen the long-standing informal power-sharing arrangement among the three senatorial districts, particularly in relation to the governorship rotation system.
According to him, this unwritten understanding has significantly contributed to peace, balance, and mutual respect among the political class in Delta State.
He warned that any disruption to this arrangement could create unnecessary tension, while continuity would deepen trust and further entrench democratic stability.
He therefore urged stakeholders across the state to remain committed to preserving this system for the overall good of Delta State.
The traditional rulers also reassured the state government of their unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and stability within their respective kingdoms.
They emphasized their role as custodians of culture and grassroots leaders, noting that their proximity to the people places them in a strategic position to promote harmony, mediate conflicts, and support government initiatives at the community level.
