Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC Rivers State Governorship Candidate for the 2027 general elections, Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs, has expressed his heartfelt condolences to the people of Kula kingdom in Akuku-Toru Local Government Area, over the tragic boat mishap which occurred on Tuesday, October 20, 2026 and resulted in the loss of several lives and other casualties, after a speedboat reportedly carrying 15 people, capsized during an operation involving a tugboat towing an oil vessel out of the coastal waters.
Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs’ condolence message, which was posted on his verified social media handles, reads:
A MESSAGE OF CONDOLENCE TO THE PEOPLE OF KULA KINGDOM
The news of the tragic boat mishap in Kula Kingdom, Akuku-Toru LGA, has deeply saddened me. As a son of this land, this loss is deeply personal. When Kula hurts, we all hurt.
My heart goes out to the families who have lost loved ones. No words can adequately ease the pain of losing someone so dear, but I pray that God grants every grieving family the strength and comfort to bear this difficult moment. Our thoughts and prayers are also with those still missing and their loved ones.
At a time like this, our people need comfort, compassion, and the assurance that they are not alone.
Kula is home. Your grief is our grief, and your pain is ours to share. May God comfort our families, strengthen our community, and grant eternal rest to the departed.
