When it comes to quality representation, when it comes to understanding the true meaning of leadership and service, Victor Ochei is a baby compared to Sen Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa.
This is not an insult, it is a fact that even Ochei himself knows deep inside him and has acknowledged.
I have seen the press releases by Victor Ochei against me but I must continue to speak the facts to our people because people have been asking “Ossai Ovie Success are you disappointed?
Of course , I should be highly disappointed .
Ochei is a good person that I know but Okowa is not your everyday politician.
Okowa is a man who has mastered the art of representation at all levels.
As a Commissioner, he performed. As SSG, he performed.
As Senator representing Delta North, he was rated one of the best in the Senate.
As Governor for eight years, he redefined governance in Delta State through massive infrastructure, human capital development, and peace building.
That is what we call representation. Representation that touches lives.
What can Ochei boast of? A few years as Speaker where the story is still controversial? That is not representation, that is position.
Let me acknowledged that as House of Assembly Members and as Speaker, Ochei of course has his own good side, I am just being truthful.
I have known Rt Hon Victor Ochei for years .
As the saying goes, “Position is given, but representation is earned.”
Okowa earned his name as Ekwueme – the man who says and does. Ochei is still learning what Ekwueme means.
There is a big difference between representing ideas and representing ambition.
Okowa represents ideas – ideas of development, ideas of equity, ideas of fairness, ideas of a better Delta. When Okowa speaks, people listen because they know he speaks from experience and from a heart that wants to serve.
Ochei represents ambition – raw, personal ambition without depth. An ambition that jumps from one contest to another without building a legacy of service.
The Bible says in Matthew 7:16, “By their fruits you shall know them.” Show us the fruits of good representation.
Okowa’s fruits are everywhere – schools, hospitals, roads, universities, peace in Delta. Where are Ochei’s fruits?
As John Quincy Adams said, “If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.” Okowa inspires. Ochei merely aspires.
There is a parable that says, a baby may have fine clothes, but he cannot tell his father how to farm.
Age matters. Experience matters. Capacity matters.
In legislative business, Okowa is a professor. Ochei is a primary school pupil.
In executive business, Okowa is a master. Ochei is an apprentice.
In political leadership, Okowa is a father. Ochei is a baby.
And babies are supposed to learn from fathers, not contest against fathers. Babies are supposed to sit down and watch how fathers do it.
As African proverb says, “What an old man sees while sitting down, a child cannot see even if he climbs a tree.”
If Ochei wants to grow in good representation, he should go and understudy Okowa. He should learn patience, humility, strategy, and people-centered politics.
But to come out and claim he wants to contest against Okowa in representation?
That is like a student challenging his lecturer to a debate on a topic the lecturer wrote the textbook.
Ochei is a baby in good representation compared to Okowa.
And that is the truth that everyone in Delta knows.
I am disappointed in Rt Hon Victor Ochei continuous outburst against Okowa because there are no facts on every of his statements regarding this senate .
