Peter Obi Suffers Setback As Omo-Agege’s NDC Ward Chairmen, Youth Leader Dump NDC, Defect To APC, Meet Governor Oborevwori In Asaba

In a major political setback for Mr Peter Obi and the NDC in Delta State, key grassroots leaders of the Senator Ovie Omo-Agege-led NDC have dumped the party and defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The defectors are ward chairmen and youth leaders who were hitherto strong pillars of the Omo-Agege/NDC structure in Ughelli North.

Those who decamped to the APC are:

  • NDC Ward Chairman, Agbarha Ward
  • NDC Ward Chairman, Ogor Ward
  • NDC Ward Chairman, Orogun Ward 1
  • NDC Youth Leader, Agbarha-Otor Ward

They were received by the Delta State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori in Asaba where they pledged their total loyalty and support to the Governor, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC.

The defection coming barely hours after Peter Obi’s visit to Asaba is a clear indication that Peter Obi and Omo-Agege have lost grip of the grassroots in Delta State.
