Asagba Azinge Inaugurates Asaba Development Union Worldwide (ADUWW) Caretaker Committee; Urges Impactful Leadership

His Royal Majesty, Asagba Prof. Epiphany Chigbogu Azinge, SAN, OON, FNIALS, FICMC, LLD (HC), KSJI, KSG, today inaugurated the Caretaker Committee of the Asaba Development Union WORLDWIDE(ADUWW) in his Palace.

The Caretaker Committee are as follows:

  1. Ogbueshi C.C. Ashiogwu – Chairman
  2. Ogbueshi Geoffrey Odogwu
  3. Dr. (Mrs.) Angela Adegboyega
  4. Ogbueshi Fred Osadebay
  5. Mrs. Beatty O. Iyio
  6. Ogbueshi Chike Ogbolu
  7. Chief Fred Okonta, Ikeoha Ahaba
  8. Mr. Emeka Okonkwo
  9. Mr. Nnamdi Bira Odiatu
  10. Ogbueshi Emma Membu
  11. Hon. Kennedy Okafor
  12. Ogbueshi Emma Diali
  13. Ogbueshi Adim Nwokolo
  14. Barr. Felix Ike Offiah

The oath of office and allegiance was administered by Chief Barr. Philip Ejike Nwokolo, Akudo Ahaba and Chief of Staff to HRM.

His Royal Majesty congratulated Ogbueshi C.C. Ashiogwu and members of the Committee for accepting to serve, noting that their mandate will be for one year before a substantive election is conducted.

In his charge, Asagba Azinge clearly stated that the ADU is not a social club. He charged them to let unity co-exist amongst them and to make “Asaba First” their mantra in all their endeavors. He urged the Committee to consult the Palace whenever they encounter difficulties.

The Monarch expressed confidence in the expertise and commitment of the Committee members, stating that their work will strengthen the developmental strides in Asaba Kingdom and ensure that Asaba remains the fastest-growing capital city in Africa, South of the Sahara. He noted that projects such as the Smart School initiative and the Ogbeke Roundabout modernization remain priorities for the Union. He appealed to them not to be in competition or loggerheads with anyone.

Nna Agu further charged Ogbueshi Chike Oliko, Onoi Ahaba and Ogbueshi Iwedike Ojogwu, Oloto Ahaba, that henceforth, any Asaba indigene seeking to book a burial or marriage date must show proof of membership of the ADU in their base, otherwise such bookings will not be approved. He proclaimed that the registration of all sons and daughters of Asaba into the ADU is non-negotiable, stressing that this is the only way to collectively build the Asaba of our dreams.

Royal blessings and prayers were offered for wisdom, unity and success as the Committee commences its assignment.

Responding on behalf of the Committee, the Chairman, Ogbueshi C.C. Ashiogwu, expressed profound gratitude to HRM Asagba Azinge for the trust reposed on them. He affirmed that the Committee will discharge its duties with due diligence and unwavering commitment to the best interest of Asaba Kingdom.
