In a time when communities yearn for visible and impactful development, the Obi Nwaokocha Okeze Foundation has continued to stand out as a model of philanthropy, transformation, and genuine service to humanity. Under the visionary leadership and unwavering generosity of Ukpechukwu Pastor Idowu Okeze, the foundation has touched virtually every sector of community life—leaving a legacy of progress that residents of Igbuzo will remember for generations.
From infrastructure to education, social welfare, youth empowerment, and security enhancement, the foundation’s activities reflect a deliberate and proactive commitment to uplifting lives and building a stronger, more united community.
One of the foundation’s notable achievements is the grading and tarring of roads, a project that has opened up neighborhoods, eased mobility, and boosted economic activities across Igbuzo. In a similar stride, the distribution and installation of solar street lights in various streets and ogbe have improved night-time visibility, enhanced security, and given the town a modern, urban outlook.
The foundation has also consistently demonstrated compassion to vulnerable groups. Through its widow empowerment programme, countless widows have received financial and material support to sustain their families. Elderly and less privileged residents have benefitted from the Free Medical Health Insurance Scheme, ensuring access to essential healthcare without financial burden.
To strengthen security and community transportation, the foundation distributed Keke, motorbikes, and shuttle buses, enabling rapid community response and safer movement. Critical infrastructure was further boosted with the donation of transformers to underserved areas, helping to stabilize power supply.
Education remains a priority for the Okeze Foundation. The organisation has championed quiz competitions among schools, donated modern laboratory equipment to St. Thomas’s School, and funded the WASSCE registration of SS3 students, ensuring that no child is denied an education due to financial constraints. The foundation also organised inter-school football competitions, providing a platform for young talents to thrive while promoting unity and healthy competition.
Community institutions have also felt its impact. The donation of banquet chairs to ICDU strengthened the capacity of the union to host events and community functions, while cash empowerment for retirees demonstrated the foundation’s respect for those who served faithfully in their active years.
Through all these interventions, Pastor Idowu Okeze’s dedication remains unwavering. His passion for community upliftment continues to position the Obi Nwaokocha Okeze Foundation as one of the most proactive and impactful humanitarian organisations in Delta State.
