Barely one week after the people of Ika Federal constituency, comprising two local government areas – Ika North-East and Ika south in Delta North Senatorial District, Delta state, joyously took delivery of the 20 out of the 30 500KVA electricity transformers attracted by their illustrious son, Chiedu Ebie, Chairman, Governing Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Ebie on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, delivered the remaining 10, bringing the number to 30.
Upon sighting heavy duty trucks conveying the transformers, many residents of the federal constituency, particularly Agbor residents, went into frenzy with joy, expressing gratitude to Mr. Ebie for his magnanimity and love for his people describing him as a promise keeper and credible public office holder.
According to them, with Ebie, It is a new dawn for Ika Federal Constituency and Ika nation. “Right from his day as Delta state Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, he has always distinguished himself. Today we are happy that as Chairman, Governing Board of NDDC, the Ika nation is wearing a new look. With his intervention in solar power street lights, night life has returned in the whole of Ika Federal Constituency”, a resident said.
In like manner, Mr Emeka Ogbe, Personal Assistant on Special Duties to the NDDC Chairman, had earlier in Agbor while addressing a gathering stated that Ebie was both intentional and resolute in ensuring that the Ika nation and entire Niger Deltans receive fair share of infrastructures and coordinated development from NDDC under his watch.
Ogbe noted that as the Chairman of NDDC Governing Board, Ebie has significantly impacted the Ika nation through targeted infrastructure, human capital development, including solar-powered streetlights, road rehabilitation, and educational support. He urged all to unite in protecting the infrastructure for the greater good of the people.
In a related development, members of GCON Media have eulogized Mr. Ebie for his untiring efforts in bringing sustainable development to the people of Ika Federal Constituency without discrimination, describing him as a selfless leader who deeply loves his people. The group also noted that the numerous infrastructural projects he has attracted has engraved his name in the hearts of Ika people.

He is not the first Ika son to attain an exalted position in public office, but we are seeing the difference and impact he is making. We pray God to bless him immensely.
