

Presidents-General across communities in Delta South Senatorial District, have vowed to remain steadfast towards the Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda vision for Deltans.
Chairman of Itsekiri Forum of President Generals and the host President General of the Seminar in Delta South, Prince Godwin Oris Okotie, who spoke on behalf of his counterparts from Isoko and Ijaw Ethnic Nationalities, stated this on Thursday during the grand finale of a 3-Day Seminar and Capacity-Building for Presidents-General across Delta South Senatorial District, convened by Office of the Special Adviser to the Governor of Delta State, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori on Community Development.
According to Prince Oris, “Let me specially thank His Excellency, our people oriented Governor of Delta State for creating Office of the Special Adviser on Community Development, which has created opportunity for the government and the people in the grassroots to smoothly interact and collaborate.
“This seminar no doubt is key to the actualization of the Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda vision.
“For us particularly in Itsekiri, Isoko and Ijaw of Delta South, we have become beneficiaries of the government of the day, both in terms of appointment and numerous infrastructural development; So we are quite happy in the conduct of the state’s governance so far, as it positively affect the entire Delta South Senatorial District”, he said.
He, thereafter, on behalf of the entire Presidents-General in Delta South, moved a vote of formal endorsement of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as the sole candidate of the Senatorial District for re-election as Governor come 2027.
The confidence vote of endorsement which was seconded by Chief Adonis Ubuwere of Isoko Ethnic Nationality, was overwhelmingly supported by all.


Earlier in his opening speech, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Community Development, Amb. (Dr.) Toyin Orighomisan Agbolayah, JP, restated the determination of the state government to carry the people at the grassroot level along in the governance of the state.
Dr. Toyin Agbolayah, said the 3-Day Seminar and Capacity-Building was in line with the MORE Agenda vision of the Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s led administration.
He noted that the mandate of his team was to reassure the people of the prevalence of good governance in every part of the state, and thanked the three senatorial districts for their coordination towards the success of the programme.
In their different keynote address, Hon. Thomas Ereyitomi (JP), the House of Reps Member Representing Warri Federal Constituency; Hon. Agbateyiniro Weyinmi Isaac, Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, and the Immediate Past State Chairman of the PDP, Chief Solomon Arenyeka, charged President Generals to champion peace, unity and development in their various localities, even as they commended the Office of the Special Adviser for the seminar.
In the morning, before commencement of the seminar, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Community Development, Amb. Dr. Toyin Agbolayah in company of the leadership of Delta South President Generals, paid a solidarity visit on the Olu of Warri, His Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse III, CFR, in his palace to intimate him on the seminar to be held in his domain.
Addressing the Special Adviser and his team, His Majesty Ogiame lauded Governor Oborevwori’s contribution to peace and development in grassroots.
The Olu of Warri commended the seminar and said he has held about the two other districts which was successful down, stressing that he is confident that the seminar will no doubt promote the desired peace and development in Delta.
