The one-month skills acquisition programme, organised by the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) in collaboration with Senator Joel-Onowakpo, was held in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, and focused on providing practical and international-standard training in welding and fabrication.
Speaking shortly after the successful completion of the programme on Friday, the welders’ team leader, Mr. Ewomazino Odugala, expressed heartfelt appreciation to the senator for what he described as a life-changing opportunity for participants drawn from Delta South.
In a statement issued on behalf of the trainees, Odugala noted that the training had significantly improved their technical knowledge and professional competence in welding and fabrication.
He also commended the peaceful conduct of the training exercise and appreciated the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board as well as the programme’s management and consultants for their dedication to ensuring the success of the initiative.
Odugala particularly praised Senator Joel-Onowakpo for demonstrating commitment to human capital development by facilitating the training opportunity for his constituents.
According to him, the programme has equipped participants with practical skills and deeper knowledge of international welding and fabrication standards, which will enhance their employability and entrepreneurial prospects.
“Our workaholic senator, the training we received has been invaluable to our career development. I particularly appreciate your efforts which helped us gain a deeper understanding of international welding and fabrication,” Odugala said.
He described the senator’s support as a reflection of his dedication to service and commitment to empowering the people of Delta South through skills development and capacity building.
