Mr. Chiedu Ebie, Chairman, Governing Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), has lauded Delta state Governor, RT Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for the historic flag off of the multi-billion Naira Agbor-Uromi Junction Flyover in Agbor.
The NDDC Governing Board Chairman’s remark was contained in a goodwill message on Monday in Agbor during the ground breaking ceremony for the construction of the road by the construction giant, Julius Berger Plc.
At the event which had in attendance first class monarchs, eminent politicians from within and outside the states, public office holders and illustrious sons and daughters of the Ika nation, Ebie Esq., harped on the importance of the project to the people of Agbor and the need for the Delta and Edo states government to partner with the NDDC to make adjoining roads that will link the Flyover, when completed motorable.
He stressed that Edo and Delta states’ partnership with the NDDC to fix the linked roads – Eku -Abraka-Agbor Road and the Agbor -Igbanke-Igueben road – will no doubt boost transportation, reduce traffic and significantly enhance efficiency and safety on the road.
Recall that in February 2025, at the commissioning of the reconstructed access road from Abraka in Delta to Oben in Edo State, Governor Oborevwori had commended the NDDC for the reconstruction work and praised President Tinubu for picking capable hands to manage different ministries, departments, and agencies for the good of Nigerians.
The governor had at the event reiterated Delta state government’s willingness to partner with the Federal Government for the overall socio-economic development of the state.
Represented by the State Commissioner for Works (Highways and Urban Roads), Comrade Reuben Izeze, Governor Oborevwori said his administration remained irrevocably committed to its partnership with the President Bola Tinubu-led federal government for the transformation of the state declaring that the success of the Tinubu-led federal government would impact on subnational governments, Delta inclusive.
“I thank the board of the NDDC for the vision, for acknowledging the challenges, and for giving the policy guideline for the execution of this laudable project. “I am glad that the NDDC is giving special attention to the reconstruction of failed portions of roads across the region.
“The Government of Delta State believes very strongly and firmly that we are partners in progress with the Federal Government led by President Bola Tinubu.
“We believe in the success of the Federal Government because of the nature of our Constitution and its operations; the success of the Federal Government will naturally translate to the success of the states as well.
“I thank Mr President for picking very good people to manage different ministries, departments, and agencies for the good of Nigerians”, the governor had stated.
