Honorable Pastor Jude Chukwunwike is the Executive Chairman of Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State. He was first elected as the Executive Chairman on March 6, 2021 and in recognition of his outstanding and brilliant achievements in the first term Hon. Pastor Jude Chukwunwike was re-elected as the Executive Chairman of Aniocha South Local Government Area and sworn in for a second term in July 2024.
In fulfilment of his campaign promises, the administration of Hon. Pastor Jude Chukwunwike has pursued an ambitious and all inclusive development agenda aimed at improving the welfare of residents and delivering tangible dividends of democracy across Aniocha South Local Government Area, recording more than 79% significant infrastructural projects and strategic interventions, as well as underscoring its commitment to sustainable development, inclusive and responsive governance.
These achievements, spanning across key sectors and communities in Aniocha South local government area, are widely regarded as visible milestones of the administration under the astute, pragmatic and people oriented policy thrusts of Hon. Pastor Jude Chukwunwike, in his unwavering determination to translate and deliver campaign promises into tangible and verifiable results across board using modern governance yardstick.
Working in tandem with the M.O.R.E Agenda of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration, Hon. Pastor Jude Chukwunwike has distinguished himself as the beacon of a new administrative order, hallmarked by a resurgence and revival of quality governance which bubbles with Renewed Hope, as he continues to offer strategic, purposeful and transformative leadership in Aniocha South Local Government Council.
Here are just a few but not limited to the milestones achieved by Hon. Pastor Jude Chukwunwike as Chairman of Aniocha South LGA:
His administration undertook massive reconstruction and a makeover as well as modern face uplift of the Aniocha South LG Council Complex, including building a Christian chapel used as a worship centre for council staff.
Installation of a solar system to boost electricity within the Council Secretariat.
Procurement of essential office equipment (computers, printers, photocopiers, etc.) both soft and hard wares computer devices to enhance digital services to the LGA staff and it’s stakeholders.
His administration saw the purchase of brand new official vehicles for the Vice Chairman, NULGE, the HPM, LGA Secretary, the Leader of the legislative arm as well as the council press crew, amongst others.
Clearing of vegetation around powerline corridors—formerly exploited by kidnappers—to enhance community safety.
Having given the council a facelift, Hon. Jude Chukwunwike made a very courageous move to clean up and beautify Ogwashi-Uku, the headquarters of Aniocha South and other towns within the LGA.
Embarked on and directly supervised the daunting task of cleaning up Ogwashi Uku, the LGA headquarters This boosted confidence in the process and laid the foundation for the success eventually recorded in the cleanup of Ogwashi-Uku and environs.
Make-shift structures that constituted nuisance, blocking the right of way for vehicles and other road users were evacuated and where convenient, beautified with aesthetic flowers.
AGRICULTURE
Empowered of over 100 verified farmers across the LGA with farm implements and grants under the Farmers Empowerment Scheme of his administration. Through the implementation of Agricultural value chain, this boosted the farmers produce and high volumes of different types of food and fruits items at the LGA and farmers clusters market gates across the LGA.

WATER & HEALTHCARE
A medical outreach programme was conducted across all 11 wards of Aniocha South.
Completed a solar-powered pipe-borne water scheme at Adonte.
Renovated and equipped the General Hospital, Ubulu-Uku.
Completed a portable water project with solar energy powered pumps in Ubulu-Uku
Built a three-bedroom Matron’s Quarters at Adonte Primary Health Care Centre, and renovated and equipped Ubulu-Uku General Hospital with vital medical equipment.
Rehabilitated the health centre at Egbudu Akah in the Nsukwa clan, with plans to equip it further.
Supported the “Sheriff Free Medical Project,” helping coordinate consultations and drug distribution for patients at Ubulu-Uku Primary Health Center.
MARKETS & COMMERCE
Completed construction of a modern market with over 100 lock-up shops at Ejeme-Unor and reconstructed an agro commodity market at Nsukwa.
Construction of 40 lock-up shops with toilets & baths at Afor Market, Ogwashi-Uku.
Laying of interlock stones at the Afor Market Motor Park, Ogwashi-Uku.
Oversaw construction and renovation of market facilities to boost commerce and support traders.
Renovation of 140 open stalls and construction of 6 lock-up stalls at Olie Market, Ubulu-Okiti.
Completed the construction of an ultra-modern motor park at the Ubulu-Uku Eke Market, to ease transportation of agricultural products away from the community to their target markets.
Revived the comatose weaving centre has been rehabilitated and revived to train prospective applicants on how to make the popular Anioma attire known as Akwa-Ocha.
ROADS & INFRASTRUCTURE
Renovated the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in Ogwashi-Uku, and asphalted damaged road spots at Umuneze Junction and the road leading to Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku.
He procured a bulldozer machine to fast-track the grading of access roads across the three clans of the LGA.
More recently, Pastor Jude Chukwunweike began reconstruction of failed portions of Ogwashi-Uku roads. as well as asphalting of severely damaged spots at Umuneze Junction and the road leading to Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku.
OTHER NOTABLE INITIATIVES
At the popular Afor Market, traders were under strict official monitoring and supervision, to sort and dispose their waste appropriately for the Private Sector Participants in charge of waste management to evacuate them. He also built a modern abattoir at the market for meat sellers.
Motor parks that hitherto constituted nuisance on the major roads by causing traffic gridlocks were confined inside a purpose-builtk park located inside the market.
The drainage channels blocked by sand and waste matter were desilted to give Ogwashi-Uku a befitting look as one of the oldest council headquarters in Nigeria.
MORE RECENT PROJECTS (2025–2026)
In March 2026, his administration delivered the Isheagu Agro Commodity Market, aimed at boosting trade in the Isheagu community and stimulating economic activities across the Nsukwa clan.
In August 2025, he announced a partnership with the Delta Social Media Summit to train Aniocha South youths on using social media for job creation.
EDUCATION
His administration over two terms, has prioritized education as a major sector for critical attention and this agenda has continued with the recent construction and renovation of classroom blocks at Ishe Primary School in Ewulu, Etiti Amaka Primary School in Ubulu-Uno, and Ijedinka Primary School in Aniagbala, complemented with the delivery of durable and comfortable desks and chairs to the schools in the LGA.
He also completed the reconstruction of classroom blocks at Abuedo Primary School in Ubulu-Uku.
Dozens of brand new grass mowers were acquired and distributed among all the primary schools in Aniocha South to curb the era of manual labour of grass clearing in primary schools.
Positioned himself as a supporter of teachers and education, reaffirming commitment to a collaborative environment for teachers, pupils, and students.
SECURITY INFRASTRUCTURE
Upgraded the Ubulu-Uku Police Post to a full Divisional Headquarters and constructed a fully equipped Police Tactical Unit in Ubulu-Uku — both of which have now been commissioned.
Construction is ongoing on the Ejeme-Unor Police Station.
Donated Toyota Sienna vehicles to the Ubulu-Uku and Ogwashi-Uku Police Divisions. He equally distributed over 20 motorcycles to the different community vigilante groups across Aniocha South LGA to boost logistics and strengthen community security.
Training and retraining of vigilante groups across the LGA to promote professionalism and enhance local security.
Working with the presidents-general of community development associations and the community vigilante groups, the Chukwunwike-led administration promoted peace and security in every community within Aniocha South LGA.
These are not just random projects, they are testaments to our shared vision for a better Aniocha South. A vision that prioritizes service above self, people above politics, and progress above excuses.
RECOGNITION
Within his first 100 days in office, residents and community leaders in Ogwashi-Uku passed a vote of confidence in him, describing him as a focused administrator who maintained an open-door policy across political lines.
In 2023, ward representatives in the local legislature passed a unanimous vote of confidence in his administration and road transport workers publicly urged him to seek a second term, citing his performance.
In October 2022, out of 774 local government chairmen across Nigeria, he was nominated, profiled, and awarded the prestigious Nigerian Local Government Chairmen Merit Award (LOGMA) of Excellence at the 21st annual ceremony held at the National Merit House, Maitama, Abuja.
PRE-CHAIRMANSHIP CAREER
Before becoming chairman in 2021, he served as Special Assistant and later Senior Special Assistant to then-Governor Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa of Delta State.
Working under the Commissioner for Housing, Chief Festus Ochonogor, he oversaw the disbursement of the Widows’ Empowerment Fund in Aniocha South LGA — handled efficiently enough that he earned the trust of the widows and women of the area.
GOVERNANCE STRUCTURE
The developmental trajectory of Hon. Pastor Jude Chukwunweike across his two tenures, delivered under and in accordance with his Empowerment and Renewed Hope budgets reveals a consistency with: market construction, health center renovations, road repairs, security support (vehicles/motorcycles for police and vigilante groups), farmer empowerment, and youth/community engagement, security, health, education, water, markets, roads, empowerment programs, and formal recognitions.
He also enjoys a cordial and robust relationship with the Legislative arm of the Council’s administration (just as he did in his first term), after the inauguration of the 7th Legislative Assembly consisting of 20 elected councillors at Ogwashi-Uku, the local government headquarters.
