Rivers State Governorship Candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, in the 2027 general elections, Opuda (Alabo) Dumo Lulu-Briggs, has admonished members of the NDC nationwide and especially in Rivers, State to remain focused, steadfast, committed, united and unwavering in their collective will and effort, to ensure that the party emerges victorious in the forthcoming general elections.
Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs gave the charge against the backdrop of a recent ruling by Justice Isa H. Dashen of the Federal High Court, Lokoja Judicial Division, which directed the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC to de-register the NDC from participating in the 2027 polls.
Posting on his verified social media handles, Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs urged Rivers NDC Members to stay on course, do the work in front of them and not allow anyone or anything to pull them away from why they started, even as the legal process run its course, as it will, adding that: “We are building something in Rivers State. Something that is not about noise or reaction or the next headline”
The full post reads:

There will always be moments designed to make you flinch. That is the nature of building something that matters. The noise gets louder precisely when you are getting closer to something real.
Last week brought one of those moments. And I watched what happened. I watched people panic. I watched the headlines do what headlines are designed to do.
I also watched something else. I watched ordinary people, in their thousands, make a decision. Not in spite of the turbulence, but because of it. They chose a side. They showed up. That tells you everything.
The gift in the intended curse is that now we have grown, with thousands joining our cause in just one weekend.
Here is what I know about distractions: they are rarely what they appear to be. A distraction is not a wall. It is a test of how serious you are. And for those who are serious, it becomes fuel.
We are building something in Rivers State. Something that is not about noise or reaction or the next headline.
It is about a future this land deserves, and the people in it.
That mission does not pause because a courtroom somewhere had a busy Friday. It does not bend because the temperature in the room goes up. It sharpens.
So today, I say this clearly: stay on course. Do the work in front of you. Let the legal process run its course, as it will. Let the institutions do what they exist to do.
And while that plays out, do not allow anyone or anything to pull you away from why you started.
Distractions are loudest at the threshold. That is how you know you are at the right door.
Your week is already blessed, so this week, Stay focused. Stay committed. We move.
