Senator Ned Nwoko
Senator representing Delta North Senatorial zone in the national assembly, Prince Ned Nwoko, has expressed the hope of eventually clinching the zone’s All Progressives Congress, APC Senatorial ticket for the 2027 elections, despite the already declared and widely published results, which revealed that former Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa defeated him by a whooping landslide in the party primaries.
It would also be recalled that the leadership of the Delta State APC has officially acknowledged and equally congratulated Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa and other winners of the primaries across the state, which was conducted from May 16 – 18, 2026.
Senator Nwoko’s optimism was conveyed in a statement posted on his verified social media handles, on Sunday morning, June 7, 2026, in which he further declared his confidence that the mandate of the people of Delta North Senatorial zone, which he claims was given to him, during the party primaries, will not be overulled.
His statement reads:
DELTA NORTH APC PRIMARY: THE MANDATE OF THE PEOPLE CANNOT BE OVERRULED
The Delta North APC Primary was conducted in accordance with the rules and guidelines of our great party. Delegates freely exercised their democratic rights, and the outcome reflected the collective will of party members across the senatorial district.
No individual declaration, announcement, or political maneuver can substitute for the lawful votes cast by accredited delegates. Democracy is founded on due process, transparency, and respect for the wishes of the people.
I remain confident that the truth will prevail and that the integrity of the electoral process within our party will be upheld. My commitment has always been to the people of Delta North, whose overwhelming support continues to inspire our movement for progress, justice, and inclusive development.
I urge all our supporters to remain calm, peaceful, and steadfast. We must continue to place our faith in the party’s constitutional processes and the institutions responsible for ensuring that justice is done.
The mandate freely given by the people is sacred, and together we will protect it.
