Update: ADC Adjusts 2026 Primary Election Time Table

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced adjustments to parts of its 2026 primary election timetable, affecting submission of nomination forms and screening dates for aspirants.

According to a statement jointly signed by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Prince Chinedu Idigo, and National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the changes followed requests from aspirants and logistical considerations.

Under the revised schedule:

  • Submission of nomination forms earlier fixed for May 13 has now been moved to May 14.
  • Screening of aspirants earlier scheduled for May 14 and 15 will now hold on May 16 and 17.

The party also announced that publication of screening results will take place between May 16 and 17, while appeals from screening decisions are expected to hold on May 18 and 19. Publication of cleared candidates has been fixed for May 20, 2026.

ADC further stated that:

  • Legislative election appeals will hold on May 22.
  • Governorship election appeals will hold on May 23.
    β€’ Presidential election appeals are scheduled for May 26.

The party confirmed that presidential and governorship aspirants will be screened in Abuja, while legislative aspirants will be screened in their respective state capitals. ADC also clarified that women and persons with disabilities are entitled to a 25% concession on nomination form costs. The party assured aspirants who paid above the approved concession rate that refunds would be processed accordingly.
