The Head of Service of Delta State, Dr. (Mrs.) Mininim Oseji, has lauded the Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria, FTAN, Delta State Chapter, for convening key stakeholders across the tourism, hospitality, culture, and creative industries.
Dr. Oseji gave the commendation while speaking as Guest of Honour at the inauguration of the FTAN Delta State Chapter in Asaba.
Her address, themed āUnlocking Delta Stateās Tourism Potential: Driving Collaboration, Investment, and Sustainable Growth,ā urged all stakeholders to promote tourism development as a means of projecting the stateās cultural and historical heritage locally and internationally.
The Head of Service noted that tourism holds significant value for society and called for stronger collaboration between industry players and government to nurture the sector. She insisted that sustainable growth depends on measurable follow-up actions to ensure plans are effectively implemented.


She listed key tourist attractions in Asaba and other parts of the state, including:
- Nelson Mandela Park of 95 Trees
- Niger Bridge
- Land of Xtreme Amusement Park
- ShopRite Mall
- Maryam Babangida Leisure Park
- River Ethiope
- Araya Bible Site
Dr. Oseji stressed that Key Performance Indicators must be adopted to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
In their remarks, FTAN State Coordinator, Mr Diala Chukwubuikem; Chairman, Nigeria Hotel Association, Asaba Chapter, Mr Joe Odogbi; and South-South Coordinator, Pastor Chinyere Umeasiegbu, stated that FTAN was established by the Federal Government as the umbrella body for tourism-related sectors such as tour operators, hospitality, travel agencies, resorts, and lounges. They emphasized the need for collective effort to support, develop, and nurture Delta Stateās tourism potential.
