NIPR Delta Pays Courtesy Visit to DCP Adejobi, Seeks Strategic Collaboration

The Delta State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) paid a courtesy visit to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations), Delta State Command, DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, reaffirming its commitment to strategic collaboration in promoting good governance and addressing social challenges in the state.

Speaking during the visit, the Chairman of NIPR Delta State Chapter, Godfrey C. Osakwe, fnipr, said the delegation was at the Police Command to formally welcome DCP Adejobi to Delta State and to intimate him of the Chapter’s ongoing activities.

He noted that as a strong member of the Institute, it was imperative to seek his continued support toward advancing the professional and developmental objectives of the Chapter.

Osakwe emphasised that “nothing inspires and motivates like sincere support and encouragement,” expressing appreciation for the warm reception accorded the delegation.

In his response, DCP Adejobi commended the Institute for its role in shaping public discourse and promoting professionalism. He offered professional insights and constructive advice, while pledging to support the State Chapter in achieving its objectives; particularly in effectively engaging Deltans and mainstreaming them into the culture of good governance across all spheres of life.

During the interactive session, the Deputy Commissioner of Police identified critical areas requiring urgent intervention among youths, including drug abuse, cultism, cybercrime, prostitution, and other social vices.

He stressed that the Institute could play a strategic role through advocacy, sensitisation, and communication-driven initiatives to curb these societal challenges.

DCP Adejobi further assured the Chapter of his readiness to collaborate with the Institute in the area of strategic management training to enhance effective policing and law enforcement, in line with international best practices in Delta State and Nigeria at large.

Members of the delegation included Florence Nwabuonwu, Vice Chairman; Dr. Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, PRO; Judith Kuejubola, Treasurer; Joy Ochei, Ex-Officio Member; Abel John Gold, Member; and Sylvester Asoya, Media Entrepreneur.
