ADC Delta State; A New Era Unfolds As Party Unveils State Secretariat, Statutory Members

On December 10th, 2025, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) national leadership unveiled the party’s statutory members for Delta State at the new state party secretariat, No. 30, DLA Road, Asaba. This dual celebration marked the unveiling of both the secretariat and statutory membership.

Led by the South-South Vice Chairman, Usani Uguru Usani, the ceremony was attended by key national leaders, including National Publicity Secretary Bolaji Abdullahi, National Vice Chairman North East Alhaji Babachir David Lawal, former Secretary to the Federation, National Assistant Secretary Hawal Wiso, National Youth Leader (Female) Miss Obaro Uloho, and Deputy National Publicity Secretary Jackie Wayas.

The national leaders emphasized the importance of the statutory members, who will play a crucial role in shaping the party’s future in Delta State. These members have the authority to expand its membership by at least 10 persons across various tendencies that formed the coalition. Their major aim is to set up an interim leadership team responsible for the party’s operations until the national congress. Notably, the national leadership’s presence was in line with a decision reached by the National Working Committee of the party, in accordance with the party’s constitution, underscoring their commitment to due process and party regulations.

The leaders urged party members to work harmoniously with the statutory members, putting aside differences, to propel the party forward. Chief Ogboru echoed this message, declaring that the real opposition has been working tirelessly to provide good governance for Delta State over the past 25 years. He poked fun at the APC’s recent gathering, which was merely a reunion of PDP leaders who have mismanaged the state.

Dismissing allegations of selling out, Chief Ogboru stated that those making such claims are not normal, emphasizing that the opposition under his leadership is too principled to engage in such practices. He recalled the last attempt to bribe the opposition, was in 2003, and since then, no one has dared to try.

The ceremony marked a new chapter in the ADC’s history in Delta State, showcasing unity and purpose among party members. As the party moves forward, it remains committed to providing strong opposition and a better future for the people of Delta State.
