The echoes of the Friday January 2, 2026, birthday of Mr. Chiedu Ebie, Chairman, Governing Board of the Niger Development Commission (NDDC) reverberated in Agbor, Delta state, Sunday evening as his Personal Aides, friends and associates, honoured him with a colourful birthday party, saying his leadership style has brought humongous infrastructure and human capital development to the Niger Delta region, his Ika federal constituency in Delta state inclusive.
The classy event which took place at Ebie’s Agbor country home were attended by many dignitaries, including Ika illustrious sons and daughters, political associates – mostly All Progressive Congress (APC) chieftains, members of the Delta Unity Group (DUG), a foremost political pressure group in Delta co founded by the NDDC Board Chairman among others.
Speaking to journalists shortly after the event, Emeka Ogbe, Personal Assistant on Special Duties to Mr. Ebie, explained that the party was a way of showing appreciation to the NDDC Chairman “for what he has done, and still doing for us”
“For us, this is a night of honour and a very good opportunity to say thank you to the great Chairman, astute politician, great leader and exemplary administrator. He has done so well for us working with him. He has done very well for the good people of Ika nation, the state and the Niger Delta region in general, and we are proud and appreciative of his performance. So, for us, this is our own little way of saying thank you to him”, Ogbe further said.
Others who spoke at the birthday celebration poured encomiums on Mr. Ebie for his unwavering commitment to the organized and sustainable development he has brought to his people. The speakers commended his style of leadership which they noted is devoid of discrimination as it is anchored on inclusivity. According to them, Ebie has united the Ika nation, brought development and empowered the youths.
The high point of the event included; lavish and sumptuous meals and choice drinks, musical entertainment, dance, group photographs among others.
