2027: Ndi-Igbo N’ụzọ Ijé (Rivers State), Non-Indigenes Leader Refutes APC Endorsements; Declares Support For Peter Obi As President, Dumo Lulu-Briggs As Rivers Governor

PRESS RELEASE / PUBLIC DISCLAIMER.

NDI-IGBO N’ỤZỌ IJÉ (RIVERS STATE) MEETS NON-INDIGENES LEADER HON. CHIEF PROSPER CHIBUEZE OLILEANYA; REFUTES APC ENDORSEMENTS IN JOINT MEDIA BROADCAST AND OFFICIALLY DECLARES SUPPORT FOR H.E. PETER OBI AND H.E. CHIEF BARR. DUMO LULU-BRIGGS.

Date: November 5, 2026

Following a strategic alignment meeting between the leadership of Ndi-Igbo N’ụzọ Ijè—the apex body representing the Igbo community across Rivers State—and the Non-Indigenes Leader, Hon. Chief Prosper Chibueze Olileanya, alongside his executive council, a joint media broadcast, was held to present a unified stance on behalf of all non-indigenes resident in Rivers State

Recognizing the importance of moving in the same direction and sharing a single vision for the progress of non-indigenes in Rivers State, the leadership of Ndi-Igbo N’ụzọ Ijè met with Hon. Chief Prosper Chibueze Olileanya and his executives to make their position clear. Together, during the public broadcast, they explicitly refuted recent media reports claiming that the Igbo community in Rivers State had endorsed the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, H.E. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the Rivers State APC governorship candidate, Hon. Ogbonna Kingsley Chinda.

The leadership of Ndi-Igbo N’ụzọ Ijè, aligned with the Non-Indigenes leadership, distanced themselves completely from the reported endorsements, declaring them entirely false, unauthorized, and baseless.
Stating their reasons during the broadcast, the leadership emphasized that after a careful assessment of Mr. President’s three and a half years in office, they concluded that the administration has been characterized by chaotic leadership, severe hunger, widespread killings, and violence.
Similarly, their evaluation of governance in Rivers State over the same three-and-a-half-year period revealed severe underdevelopment and policy distortions. They gathered that this stagnation is directly attributable to the deeply rooted crisis and ongoing power struggle between a political godfather and godson, which has left Rivers State in an extremely vulnerable position. The combined non-indigenes leadership affirmed that they will not stand by and watch Nigeria and Rivers State being partitioned by a select few at the expense of the masses.

Having evaluated the candidates contesting the upcoming elections, the leadership of Ndi-Igbo N’ụzọ Ijè declared that they see the strength, capability, zeal, and vision required to push Nigeria and Rivers State forward from this state of despair in specific leaders.

Consequently, having aligned on a shared vision for non-indigenes across the state, they have fully endorsed and declared total support for:

  • H.E. Peter Gregory Obi / Engr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso for President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
  • H.E. Chief Barr. Dumo Lulu-Briggs for Governor of Rivers State.
The leadership firmly rejected the purported endorsements of President Tinubu and Hon. Chinda, reminding the general public that Ndi-Igbo N’ụzọ Ijè remains the only recognized Igbo association in Rivers State, holding full authority over the Igbo community across all local government areas. They discountenanced all contrary claims, making it clear to the public that they were neither aware of nor associated with the purported APC endorsements.

Concluding the broadcast, the President of Ndi-Igbo N’ụzọ Ijè, supported by the Non-Indigenes leadership under Hon. Chief Prosper Chibueze Olileanya, issued a strict directive to all Igbo residents and non-indigenes across Rivers State on the path to follow come 2027. They urged everyone to stand united and vote en masse for H.E. Peter Gregory Obi / Kwankwaso for President, H.E. Chief Barr. Dumo Lulu-Briggs for Governor of Rivers State, and all other genuine NDC aspirants.
Signed,

Godwin Victor
Secretary, NDC Non-Indigenes, Rivers State

For: Hon. Chief Prosper Chibueze Olileanaya,
NDC Rivers State Non-Indigenes Leader.
