The Governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has celebrated the distinguished career of the Head of Service, Dr. (Mrs.) Mininim Oseji, commending her immense sacrifice and contributions to the development of the State.
The Governor, who was represented by the Chief of Staff, Government House, Hon. Prince Johnson Erijo, gave the commendation at a Valedictory Lecture organised in honour of the Head of Service in Asaba.
He stated that Dr. Oseji’s career reflected the values of hard work, discipline, dedication and perseverance, stressing that with such virtues, one can attain greatness.

Governor Oborevwori disclosed that he had immense trust in Dr. Oseji’s capacity to deliver when she was appointed Head of Service.
He noted that she has demonstrated excellence by helping to build a professional, efficient and effective public service in the State.
The Governor emphasized that the theme of the valedictory lecture, “The Total Public Servant: From Recruitment to Retirement,” underscored the importance of succession, documentation, planning and retirement.
“On behalf of the Government and people of Delta State, I thank Dr. Oseji for contributing to the development of the State and appreciate her family for their support and sacrifices that enabled her to achieve success,” the Governor stated.
According to him, “The ultimate purpose of service is to improve the lives of the people.”
He prayed for God’s continued guidance and protection for the Oseji family as she transits to another phase of life.
Earlier, the Head of Service, Dr. (Mrs.) Mininim Oseji, delivered a paper on “The Total Public Servant: From Recruitment to Retirement.”

She revealed that the theme was inspired by three concepts: Total Quality Management, which emphasizes continuous improvement in the quality of services rendered by an organisation; the total woman and total man concept; and the concept of one’s work-life journey from recruitment to retirement.
The Head of Service advised that the total public servant must set and achieve goals, noting that organisations only succeed with unity of purpose, effective communication, mutual respect, professionalism, prudence and proper documentation.
She outlined qualities expected of public servants to include courtesy, discipline, transparency, efficiency and resilience, adding that an effective public servant should be hardworking, innovative, thorough, ICT-compliant, result-oriented and properly dressed.
Dr. Oseji charged public officers to find unique opportunities to promote their respective professions and display their expertise.

Top government functionaries were present at the ceremony.
