South-East APC Stakeholders held a meeting at the Hotel Presidential in Enugu, on Saturday, January 10, 2026 and endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in 2027.
In attendance were members of the National Working Committee of the APC from the South East region, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, South-East members of the National Assembly, the Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Barr. Peter Mbah, the Governor of Ebonyi State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Francis Nwifuru, and the Governor of Imo State, His Excellency, Sen. Hope Uzodinma. In their various speeches, they lauded the commitment of party faithfuls to the growth of APC in the region.
Renewed Hope Ambassador and Imo state governor, Sen Hope Uzodinma, stated that the South East must move beyond local politics, emphasizing that the region needs to take part in national politics that will place the region firmly at the federal level.
He noted that the South East only contributed six percent of the total votes cast for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2023 presidential election, and needed to work harder this time around to return the president to office for second tenure.

He then asked Sen Anyim Pius Anyim to move a motion for the adoption of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term. Sen Ken Nnamani seconded the motion. The house adopted it with full support from those present.
